Witness and Witnessing and the Reason

The beauty of the New Testament is not found in what we can do for God, but in the overwhelming revelation of what Yah’shua (Jesus) has already done for His beloved. In the religious world, a "witness" is often portrayed as someone striving to prove their own devotion through works, rules, and "doing." Yet, the ultimate Witness, the Holy Spirit constantly reminds us of the goodness, love, and truth of Christ. So, it becomes clear that a true witness is simply one who disregards himself and points toward the Truth, the Light of the World.

When we look at the opening chapter of John, we are introduced to a man sent from God whose entire existence was defined by this singular purpose.

Babylon Gone

In our third and last post in the series we conclude our journey through the Babylon confusion, we move from the historical shadows of exile into the prophetic climax found in the book of Revelation. We witness the greatest unveiling, the glory of the Lamb who has taken away the sin of the world. 

We have traced the "Line of Confusion" from the Garden of Eden (the lie of lack), through the Plains of Shinar (the bricks of effort), and through the Exile (the blindness of legalism). Now, we see how the "Deadly Concoction" meets its final end. In Revelation, the "mixture" is finally exposed and estranged, the "mystery" is denounced, and the "Finished Work" is fully exhibited so that the blind are no longer blind.

The Holy Spirit reminds us daily that we are the object of Yah’shua’s deepest affection.

When we look at Psalm 139 through the lens of the Finished Work, we see that it is not a song about a distant God tracking our every move for judgment, but a love letter about a Saviour who has fully known us, fully searched us, and fully perfected us.

We are reminded that in the Finished Work of Yah’shua, we have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, "Abba, Father" (Romans 8:15, KJV).

The Divine Pattern of Marriage

What may be corrupted as a military instruction, is actually a divine guideline for sensible living in a marriage. The Apostle Paul's words in Ephesians chapter five, particularly the part for wives to “submit” to their husbands and for husbands to be the "head" of the wife, present a profound and often misunderstood picture of the marital relationship. To truly grasp this divine pattern, we must go beyond a modern-day, surface-level reading and examine the original Greek, focusing on the finished work of Christ, which transforms all human relationships and ultimately finds its glorious consummation in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

The Christian journey, for many, often feels like a relentless striving towards an elusive ideal. We hear calls to spiritual maturity, to be "more like Jesus," and sometimes, these calls can subtly morph into a burdensome checklist of performance. WWJD. Yet, tucked away in the New Testament in clear sight, is a profound declaration of our destiny, particularly in Ephesians 4:13 (NKJV): "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

From a grace perspective, this isn't a command to labour tirelessly to achieve something we lack. Instead, it's a glorious invitation to manifest the divine reality that is already complete within us through the finished work of Jesus Christ. This verse, when seen through the lens of God's lavish grace and its surrounding context, reveals spiritual growth not as a demanding climb, but as a beautiful, effortless unfolding of Christ's life within the united Body of Christ.

The Blueprint in the genealogy of Jesus

In the previous post we looked at the gematria construct of Matthew 1:1-17 and the balance of probabilities that any heptadic narrative anywhere in the world could have been written in this way. We discovered that it is not humanly possible. In fact, we discovered that it is beyond the computing abilities of a thousand ultra-futuristic advanced supercomputers working together to achieve this. And that was just on the construct!

In this post we’ll focus more on the genealogy and the meaning of names of the ancestral human lineage of Yah’shua (Jesus). We’ll look at the prophetic meaning of these names, how history is really His-story and how Matthew 1 was cleverly constructed.

The Divine Blueprint: A Closer Look at Matthew 1:1-17

Despite many caveats, the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1 continues to fascinate and intrigue. The meticulous structure, the specific names, the construct itself and the underlying numerical patterns suggest a divine hand at work. The heptadic structure, in particular, is striking and points to a deliberate, divine design.

However, it's important to remember that the Bible is the written word of God, whilst Jesus is the living Word of God abiding within. First and foremost we should hear Him. Also, the Bible as a book of faith and revelation, is not primarily intended to be a mathematical textbook. While numerical patterns and symbolic meanings can enhance our understanding of the text, they should never overshadow the core message of the gospel.

The ultimate purpose of the genealogy in Matthew 1 is to establish Jesus' messianic lineage, to follow the lineage leading to Him and stand in awe of the Old Testament prophecies and promises culminating in Grace manifested in the flesh. The genealogy and its very construct, is a testament to God's faithfulness and His plan for redemption.

By studying the genealogy of Jesus and the underlying numerical patterns, we can gain a deeper appreciation for the intricate details of the biblical text. However, it is essential to approach such studies with humility and a willingness to hear from the Word Himself.

The revelation of commands and rewards

The religious world has an unhealthy obsession with performance (and behaviour-modification).

And performance has everything to do with following rules (commands), doing things just right and being compensated (getting rewards). It is the execution and discharge of obligations to accomplish some benefit (blessing).

Yip, the so-called church service is performance driven. Even the Christian worship must be performance based, the preacher, the choir, the music, the prayer, the annual report - all must be a dramatic execution-overdrive of prescripts, done exactly right.

To get good with God.

It is a ritual. And religion has a doctrine name for its prescriptive ritual.

The word that the institutional church uses is liturgy.

The name of this book in Greek is apokalypsis. It derived its name from the first sentence in the book. And it has been severely battered and butchered to fit the case of many end-time prophets. 

Mystical. Supernatural. Inexplicable. Other-worldly.

Why Did Jesus Come to Earth as a Human Being and Not as God?

We are going to deal with this question in this post because it forms part of the very essence of God’s will and His restoration of power and authority.

What Does a Defeated Enemy Do?

If you were the (defeated) enemy of God's favored and chosen people—the children of the King, those who have (inherited) unlimited power and authority to rule and execute justice and love in righteousness over their circumstances—what would you use as a weapon?

Grace preceded the law

The monumental truth of the Gospel is that God is Love (agapē, Greek: ἀγάπη - unconditional, self-giving love). Because He is perfectly fair and perfectly just, He has made one single, all-sufficient provision for all humanity: His Son, Jesus Christ.

With God we always have a free choice for or against His Love and that choice in its entirety is up to us. The choice is not whether we can do enough to earn His love, but simply whether we will receive (by faith) or reject the finished work of His Love. As the Scripture says: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9, KJV). Otherwise God would not be a fair and just God. His justice is fully satisfied in Christ, and His fairness is proven by making the free gift available to all.
