Daniel דּנאל is a personal blog. The purpose of the blog is to document for myself, and share with others, the Gospel of Grace and Kindness and Goodness and Love and Truth - the Person that the Spirit of Love ... of Yah'shua ... of Abba Abba teaches me through intimacy with Him.

Based on?

To me this intimacy sharing blog is based on what 2 Peter 1:19-21 says:

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 

Where did it all start? 

My journey with Jesus, and ABBA (that is - Daddy God), started at a very young age. I remember as a young boy being fondly in love with the Psalms, Ecclesiastes and Proverbs. I was, however, brought up in a staunch and very religious institutional Afrikaans church. This institution has its own doctrine of cause, and many established traditions, customs, rituals, beliefs, touch-nots, do-nots, look-nots, hear-nots and other laws and rules based on mixed beliefs and teachings. 

Growing up 

During my varsity days as a student, I found myself drifted far away from the tender (although skewed) relationship with Abba. My personal relationship up to this point was basically founded upon these corrupted, mixed messages of the institutional church we belonged to, my own innocence and ignorance growing up as a school boy. As a student, I embraced the freedom of university life and all the worldly pleasures that went with it.

Getting a life 

In my later years at university I met my beautiful wife, Charelene and for the first time started attending institutional church services again. After completing our studies, Charelene and me got married. I started my professional career as an anthropologist and Charelene ventured into the business of arts and crafts. Our subscription to the traditional Afrikaner church prolonged until after our two children were born. 

The journey as a doer

With the birth of our children I was somehow awakened to the character of God that I had never been taught in church. I saw in these wonderfully made little human beings something which was quite contrary to a God of wrath and vengeance and Who forever stood ready to punish people for their sins and trespasses. Yet, we still participated and subjected our kids to many, if not all, religious rituals, practices and rites.

As time went by we were awakened by the Holy Spirit to think outside of the fences of man-made rules and religion ... gradually. We started attended charismatic and Pentecostal church services, much to the dismay of our families. Here we discovered a more open relationship with Abba. I will always be grateful that through all this, the Holy Spirit supernaturally led us. As time went by we were able to silence the religious noises that so frequently distorted and corrupted the true Gospel, and started hearing His Voice clearer and clearer. All along He was guiding us closer to Him, to hear and feel His heartbeat. We started hearing the True Gospel clearer and clearer.

Our earnest intimacy with Abba made it increasingly difficult to sit through the mixed messages preached by these institutional churches (charismatic and otherwise). Most messages were condemnation messages and the finished work of Jesus was constantly and deliberately overlooked and denied. Even whilst attempting to earn His love through works as a lead intercessor, as altar workers, home-group-leaders, Sunday school teacher, outreach coordinators, etc, etc. the Holy Spirit intimately and consistently kept on teaching us about the wonders of His undeserved and unmerited favour and of the Truth of His beautiful Grace.

Taken out of the confusion

Church became something else. I came to realize that whoever and wherever those called by Jesus are, there is Jesus ... there is the church, a person, a union - the true ekklēsia (those, literally in the Greek meaning from the calling or called out from amongst or from the original).

Ekklēsia is my position in Him. My original design. Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. Isa 51:1

I came to understand that the ekklēsia was never meant to be a building, but a union with Christ instead, of those called, a response to His call. It was never intended to be a gathering of exclusive people with an exclusive agenda or doctrine, in an exclusive building with an exclusive budget calling themselves Christians, controlling other Christians. Jesus, in His great commission, never said to get a place (church) for the gathering so that people could attend there on a weekly basis. He, instead, went to places and gathered people from amongst, everywhere and allowed people (ekklēsia) to gather around Him, to interact and ask questions! The Word says He is the Friend of sinners.

A personal walk

For my family and I, our relationship with Jesus got to point where it became close and personal. We increasingly found it difficult to participate in trivial religious nonsense.

Abba started showing us His affection towards us through names and revelations in His Word. He constantly revealed to Charelene and me (and keeps doing so) the most beautiful messages contained in His Word, sometimes in person ... jogging, reading, driving, in the shower ... just being with Him. In His Name beautiful revelations manifest to me, most of which you will be able to find throughout the postings on this blog. He also showered me with many intimacies regarding my own name (see here) and other names, places, words, sequences of names, pictographs from the ancient Hebrew aleph-beth and even numbers contained in scripture and parts of scripture - all testifying to His immense Grace.

To know Him more

Proverbs 25:2 says It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Better translated this scripture says: It is the splendour (Glory) of YHVH and His abundance to carefully conceal a matter (dâbâr) openly, so that the matter (dâbâr or דָּבָר - the matter, the cause, the affair, business, the case, the message, the reason, the tidings, the sign, the explanation ... with pictograph: the door to the house is the highest person (Jesus)) may be easily discovered or examined by Kings (that's us, His heirs in the New Testament!) in precise detail.

And more

Through ministering this Gospel that is Jesus, this Message, the Grace of Abba to others, He started teaching me more and more about His unearned favour and endless love and compassion towards us.

Sharing more of Him

Daniel דּנאל, the blog, goes to the deeper parts of my personal relationship with Abba Abba. Most all of these teachings were given to me by guidance and revelation of His Holy Spirit and is presented here as a testimony, as a metanoia of His Truth, His Way, His Life ... It testifies to the very person of Abba being YHVH, YHVH God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth (Exo 34:6) fully revealed in Jesus Christ, our Saviour Who calls Himself our close Friend. He can be no other!

I documented them so that I would not forget them. And I share them to those open and willing to receive them.

Pointing to Yah'shua!

So, what you read here has very little to do with the person Daniel דּנאל, since the vastness of His goodness and kindness and mercy and love was already there, from the beginning. Daniel דּנאל just discovered, rediscovered and continues to rediscover Him. This reawakening takes place in the presence of the One Who loves with an undying, immeasurable great Love - Yah'shua, Jesus the Christ!

And His Finished work!

Always and forever glory to Yah'shua ha Mashiach, Jesus Christ!
