Recently, I tuned into an online podcast teaching about "How to know the will of God." A great question indeed! But to my surprise, the podcast teacher, despite being part of a grace-focused ministry (which I highly recommend, and whose founder I consider a mentor), seemed to miss the truly Greater Answer. It was a whisper to my spirit, a revelation that brought exceeding peace and comfort, even as the teacher continued his lengthy explanation.

Should I explain? Let's dive in.

Due Season

We are often told that everything has its due season (and that whatever happens, happens for a reason, which I've dealt with numerous times on the blog).

We are often told that everything has its season, especially when things go wrong. And it is often by well-meaning Christians in an effort to comfort us, but it is hopeless on so many levels. It is something one would say because they wouldn’t know what else to say or do.

In this post I will explore the “due season” phrase and how it connects to our graceful position in Christ.

Paranoia ... or metanoia

So much deception and make-believe (brainwashing) going around today!

And so much perspective is lost!

It is scary.

But, what we believe boils down to simple agreement (being fully persuaded) or disagreement (or being doubtful).

Yip, I am ranting on again. But allow me to explain before I say anything further about our subject of paranoia versus metanoia.

We have a habit of speaking to God. Me, my wife and our two daughters.

We speak to God on many matters. Even trivial ones, sometimes. And we ask many questions. Even stupid ones, sometimes.

But Abba always answers.

We tend to talk about current matters.

Sometimes we speak to God on pressing matters that lay heavily on our hearts as well.

Driving to the office this morning, I was given one word by the Holy Spirit this morning.

Passion.

Right.

It is all about Him.

He is all about me.

And reading with the lenses of Grace makes this fundamental truth abundantly clear. And mind-blowing.

Protected with exceedingly great joy - agalliasis

The word of God is different.

It is so amazing that when you are warned and told to watch out for the enemy, you are at the same time comforted and reminded that you are protected by Someone with the wildest, most extravagant, supernatural joy over you.

Is this even possible?

The Shepherd bowing down to the rebellious

The Old Covenant is deeply intertwined with the prophecies that speak of the glorious reality of Jesus Christ.

Today, I’m diving into Psalm 78, a powerful reflection by Asaph, whose very name means "gatherer" or "receiver." Asaph, the psalmist, gathers and receives divine truth, then delivers it to us.

This isn't just an ancient poem; it’s a living word that speaks directly to us, revealing God’s unwavering kindness even in the face of human rebellion. It recounts the turbulent history of Israel, from their miraculous deliverance from Egyptian bondage, highlighting how, time and again, they "did not believe in God, and did not trust in His salvation [Yah’shû‛âh]" (verse 22). In the same sense it speaks to us today.

I just love the verse that Peter quotes in Acts 11:16 that explains 'Emanuel' God with us all, Jew and Gentile, fool and freak, mister-cool and mister-not-so-cool, well-composed and exuberant extrovert, learned academic and unskilled worker, able-bodied and incapable, accomplished and needy, lovely and loveless, sober and drunk, ... clean and unclean ...

Then remembered I the word of Yahushua, how that he said,

What's in a feast?

My family and I do not celebrate the festivities during the end of the year. However, I sent out a message on December 31 to friends and family that read: “In this season that we refer to as 2015 on the Greco-Roman calendar, may you find pleasure and content in the fact that Father God dances over you with joy! Zep 3:17”

My surprise was great at the reaction of some and I realized that amongst most of us there existed the concept of a furious, angry God.

YHVH has hidden

Is it really hidden?

There was this awesome prophet with the name Zephaniah (YHVH has hidden).

Zephaniah prophesied about the great-and-awesome-day of-the-Lord. He also prophesied how it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger. Zep 2:3

Something is hidden

Where does it lead?

What about it all?

What is our responsibility?

Where does our growth and maturity in Christ lead?

What is the culminating goal of it all? 

The Answer is simple, yet mind-blowing-great
