What is the will of God?

Recently I listened to a short online teaching on How to know the will of God.

Great question!

And there is an even Greater Answer!

An Answer the online guy who did the teaching completely missed. But, it was whispered to me very quickly By the Holy Spirit even as the teacher went on and on trying to explain.

The whisper brought me exceeding great peace and comfort.

Should I explain?

Looking at Jesus through the aleph-beth

The institutional church will have you believe that Psalm 112 is all about you ... but look again!

It's all about Jesus!

See so that you can see

... and when you see that, you will discover His heart for you ...

abc in Hebrew

To make it fun and deeply spiritual (haha), we'll read this Psalm the way it was written - in ancient Hebrew going through all the letters of the Hebrew Aleph-Beth, from the first letter Aleph to the last, Tav.

sugklēronomos

This post is all about a deeper dive into sugklēronomos, embracing a crucially important aspect of our position in Christ that is too often overlooked and almost never promoted by the institutional church.

It speaks to our divine inheritance.

The concept

So, the concept of being a sugklēronomos unlocks a profound truth

Never go against your pastor, or you'll be guilty of witchcraft!

Years ago when my family and I made the change to move from an orthodox Afrikaans church to a more evangelical, Pentecostal church, we were often told and kept in check by the pastor telling us that we must never rebel against him (or her - his mother was the other pastor), because that would constitute witchcraft and we wouldn't want to make ourselves guilty of that!

Witchcraft carries the death sentence as an ultimate punishable sin (sic).

You, your kids and even those not even closely related to you

In this post we will be looking at a certain event in the book of Acts and attentively note how that Peter reprimands those who amazed, astonished and perplexed mocked those who spoke in tongues once they were filled with the Spirit of Jesus.

The Story

Acts is the story God's Grace following the ascension of Jesus. It is the story of the first congregations of those-called-out-from-amongst (the ekklēsia), of those who came to know and receive Christ shortly after His ascension. It is the story of missionaries and courageous travels and of answering those who grew up in pagan society culture. It is the story of bringing the Gospel, even amidst what may have been regarded as totalitarian autocracy by such super-power as Rome ...

Yah'shua type: Zerubbabel

When reading about Zerubabbel, what comes to your mind?

How do you interpret what is happening during the re-occupation of Jerusalem and why is it even relevant to us?

Let's take this approach that nothing in the Bible is just there for leisure reading. It is there to tell us something about Jesus ... not about us in the first instance, but about Him.

And then finding Him, we are able to find ourselves ...

Does our concept of God conform to who He says He is?

The higher being concept

All over the world in all religions people have different concepts of who their God is.

Some of these ideas were formed by religious thinking, while others believe they received it by revelation.

Still others believe that a God is just a state of being.

Maybe we should first look at the concept of who we are

What does it mean? The Way, the Truth and Life?

I always find it beneficial to listen what Jesus says.

Sometimes I battle because of my brainwashed past.

But you can always ask the Spirit of Truth to help ...

What does Jesus say when He says He is the Way, the Truth and Life?

We need guidance

With the guidance and revelation of the Holy Spirit, meditating on the words of the Word Himself, becomes an overwhelming gratifying and refreshing experience, especially considering that they are spirit and they are life. John 6:63

Didn’t God say Hearken unto me now therefore, ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth? Pro 7:24

The Sinner's Prayer is not in the Bible and neither is catechism

In order to be saved, you have to do what?

Well, that depends on whatever institution or doctrine or belief you subscribe to.

It may even depend on the rite of passage and prescribed rituals you have to go through and perform.

And even if you conformed and did all this, you might never be certain because you may remain a sinner according to the specific institutional church you subscribe to.

It all depends on your effort and how well you do the things they wanted you to do.

But, does it?

Like-mindedness - phroneō

I recently read Romans 15:1-7 ... again ...

No, you do not understand ...

I really read it!

Not just thoroughly, but this time intensely ... with the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The discovery I made was not hidden

My discovery was, as always, mind-blowing.

love and the law

So love has nothing to do with the law ... right?

And, what does Romans 13 say when it says that "... owe no man any thing, but to love one another ..."

Is this a new law?

Before time was ...

Sometimes it is amazing how that we skip over something just because we do not understand it or because we have been made to believe differently.

As modern people, we are schooled to think uni-literally (is there such a word?) for some reason. We are programmed like computers to believe that there is only one meaning to a word. After all, that's how programming works - constants and variables. But the variables are handled differently altogether until they produce a constant.

We forget how that through the ages, through circumstances and the traditions and customs of man, different meanings have been ascribed to the same word so that word today may not even mean the same as it did two hundred years ago.

New Year double trouble double blessing

There is nothing like an encouraging message. And sometimes one is fabricated or concocted from the old covenant and used with good intentions to inspire people. That is the way it is with many a New year's message. Yet, many of them border on fortune-telling and some are nothing but sorcery ...

The institutional church is quick to tell us that we will receive double for our trouble, that the next year will be better than the one before, that we have to look out for our blessings and signs and we have to start performing to receive them.

Yes. Fortune-telling.

You might rather have gone to the gypsy in her caravan around the corner, just the same.

The New Year Message

Pastors and ministers spend days and weeks preparing for their new years message so that the congregation may get the ultimate boost and satisfaction out of what is portrayed as a message directly from God.
