To be victorious in this life has nothing to do with our abilities, right living, being obedient to the law or how long or how right we pray.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of יהוה, which is in Messiah Yahushua our Saviour. Rom 8:38-39

Not even our own trivial insecurities, our doubts and unbelief, our bitterness and our unforgiving hearts, our relentless pursuit of the doctrines of men and traditions can separate us from the eternal, affectionate love of Jesus. It may keep us from living a victorious life in this life, but it can not separate us from God's love (Jesus) towards us.

Because it has everything to do with what He did and nothing to do with what we did or are able to do. That's why keeping the law counts to nothing.

What does all this have to do with victorious living?

As co-heirs in the kingdom of God, we might as well take up our positions and live victorious even now in this life ... Remember, just in the previous verse Paul makes this very point saying that whatever we are challenged with in this life, in all these things we are more than conquerors [hupernikaō - remember this post and this one] through him that loved us

Being victorious over set-back, adversity, sickness, bondage, etc. has everything to do with Him loving us.
