Even if you are rough and tough and head-strong ...
Even if you are shy, soft spoken, introvert ...
... Grace finds you.
Grace encourages you and clothes you with the new man created in the likeliness of God, in righteousness and true holiness ... bold and fearless!
You've got to appreciate Peter!
This guy was rough and tough as nails. He was a fisherman, working with his hands, drawing out heavy nets of fish, mending nets, tending to boats, etc.
He is the person for whom action spoke loader than words.
Remember on the mount of transfiguration Peter was the one immediately wanting to build houses for Elijah, Moses and Jesus when he saw them appear with Jesus.
Peter was the one who took to action when the roman soldiers accompanied by Judas and the pharisees wanted to arrest Jesus by severing a soldier's ear. Action and "do" is what he knew.
This is also the person who denied Jesus. Not once. Not twice. But three times through fear and lack of courage.

I've heard people say "Preach the Word always and if necessary, use words." What a lie! What a deception!
God created the world as we know it by speaking His Word!
Jesus healed by speaking words!
Jesus overcame the devil by countering his deceptive words with the Word of Truth!
Jesus is the Living Word!
Life and death is in the power of the tongue!
The Word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart! Rom 10:8
Upon ascending Jesus said to His disciples to wait until the One that He would send would come upon them.
When He did descent on them on Pentecost everything changed!
... and Peter preached the Word:

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Act 2:38-39
Peter's very first sermon!
Did he prepare to meet those people in the temple and in the streets and rehearsed what he should speak and say to them?
No!
The Holy Spirit game upon him!
What did he say?
Well, let's translate the above sermon directly from the Greek:
His Gift - His Spirit of victory and Grace and Love and Kindness is for you!

Well, let's translate the above sermon directly from the Greek:
Repent ... change your mind in line with what God thinks and be baptized, dying with Jesus and being resurrected with Him, everyone in the name of Jesus Christ for the release of your bondage and embrace the Gift of His Holy Spirit - He is yours for the taking!
For the Promise, His Holy Spirit, is available to all, you and your children and all thinking themselves unworthy and sinful, even as many as Jesus had died for, calling you-all so that no one should miss out!If you feel unworthy and afar off ... you are precisely in the right category.
His Gift - His Spirit of victory and Grace and Love and Kindness is for you!
