Ho shi Yah na - Baruch ha ba ha Schem Adonai!
Blessed Fulfillment: Yah'shua, He is Yahveh!
We recently explored the profound meaning of "Baruch ha ba ha Schem Adonai – blessed be He who comes in the Name of the Lord." The original Hebrew reveals an even deeper truth: "Blessed be He who comes in the name of Yahveh." And who is "He"? None other than Yah'shua! He is Yahveh!
Powerful prophecy fulfillment
Psalm 118:26 (KJV): "Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD [YHVH]."
This verse echoes through the New Testament accounts of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem:
Matthew 21:9 (KJV): "And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest."
Matthew 23:39 (KJV): "For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord."
Mark 11:9 (KJV): "And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:"
Mark 11:10 (KJV): "Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest."
Luke 19:38 (KJV): "Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest."
John 12:13 (KJV): "Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord [Yah'shua coming in the Name of Yah - Yah'shua (יהושע) coming in the name of Yahveh (יהוה)]."
This is truly wonderful to the praise and glory of our glorious, victorious Yah'shua!
Unpacking "Ho shi Yah na"
Now, let us delve into the preceding verse of Psalm 118:
Psalm 118:25 (KJV): "Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity."
This is the verse that reverberates through the Gospels as Jesus enters Jerusalem on the eve of Passover, just before His crucifixion. While translated, the original Hebrew is Ho shi Yah na, which we commonly sing as "Hosanna!"
But what does Ho shi Yah na truly mean?
It means God (Yah) save (shua – like in Yah'shua) now and show prosperity.
Did the people understand the depth of their shouts?
As we read the Gospels, we see Jesus entering Jerusalem not merely as a prophet, but as a King, a Hero. His praises filled the streets of Jerusalem.
"Ho shi Yah na!" – these were shouts of profound joy, the song of the season, sung by every Jewish person preparing for Passover and the atonement. Psalm 118 was a designated psalm for this time, and here were the people, moved by the Spirit, singing it directly to Jesus!
Crucially, this Psalm was never meant to be sung to a mere man, but as a direct prayer to God Himself. Yet, the people were compelled to attribute these words directly to Jesus. The very words of the Psalm, meant to be shouted and attributed only to the true Messiah, were on their lips for Him. They knew!
The Divine Confirmation
It becomes even more compelling. Ho shi Yah na occurs in conjunction with Baruch ha ba ha Shem Adonai, ensuring that everyone present could be certain of Who it was that came in the Name of Yahveh. The spiritual understanding was profound.
Matthew 21:9 (KJV): "And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna [YHVH save now and show prosperity] in the highest."
Mark 11:9 (KJV): "And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:"
The Manifestation of Yahveh
And it becomes even more clinical in its revelation.
Recall when God gave the commandments, declaring to Israel: "Yahveh your God is one Yahveh" – Sh'ma Yisra'el Yahuah Eloheinu Yahuah echad! (Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one!)
This was the moment of that declaration's manifestation!
They knew it, in that instant of spontaneous worship, yet tragically, they missed it the very next day.
Yahveh manifested as the man Yah'shua and died as the man Yah'shua.
He was raised, eternally one with Yahveh, truly the manifested Man-God.
A Man, Jesus, was victorious and overcame the enemy!
Jesus is exalted because He is also Yahveh!
Let's do the math
YHVH = Yah'shua and Yah'shua = YHVH.
Jesus was raised because, through His atoning sacrifice, we were declared righteous by Him (Romans 4).
When Yah'shua ascended, He fully restored to us the very same power and authority to rule that the first Adam surrendered. When God, after creating mankind, instructed him to rule over all the earth, He meant it!
It was man who was intended to rule. Yahveh does not retract His own Word! His gifts and callings are irrevocable!
Yet, humanity abdicated its power to the enemy. But God does not turn on His Word – therefore, a Man had to reclaim this authority. And it is for this precise reason that Yahveh had to manifest as Man, in human flesh, so that a Man could win back this dominion!
And He has given it back to you and me as an inheritance, declaring: "GO..." Say to the mountain! Make disciples! Heal the sick! Cast out demons!
We do not rule as subordinate slaves or with some mere delegated authority. We have dominion as co-heirs and children of Yahveh, with the fullness of God living within us. God, in His infinite grace, gave it all for this truth to be established in His Son!
What should we do?
Go... Take up your inheritance! Rule!
HalleluYAH!
