Have enough Faith?
Lost your Faith?
Grow in Faith?
If ever we wanted to understand Faith the book of Hebrews is the one we need to consult thoroughly.
Remember this post on Faith?
Remember this post on Faith?
Well, the author of the book of Hebrews seems to focus a lot on this subject that is so easily twisted in today's religious and perverted mixture of law with Grace.
So, how are we to understand faith?
The author of Hebrews goes quite the distance in explaining how the old covenant people tried to obtain righteousness by way of priestly service, upholding the law, animal sacrifices, attempts to live holy, etc, etc.
He, time and again, counters these old covenant works and man-made attempts with the only True Sacrifice and then explains Faith starting in verse 26 of chapter 9 going on to the hall of faith, chapter 11, by giving the perfect definition of Faith saying: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

The rest of chapter 11 is devoted to those who had walked in great faith explaining in verse 13 that even as they did - "These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth."
... and then in verse 39 that "... these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise"
The conclusion is awesome!
The conclusion is awesome!
Therefore, he says, stating in magnificent conclusion in chapter 12:
“Lay aside every weight, every yoke, every burden, and the sin of unbelief that so easily besets you! Instead looking away unto Jesus, the author and finisher of faith!” - Hebrews 12:1 amp
Yes, because of the overwhelming evidence given to us, it is actually easy to lay down our burdens of worry and self-condemnation and fear of missing the mark (sin) that prevents us from taking up our God-given authority to rule right now, right here, as co-heirs of and in His Kingdom: "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
We are the heirs of Faith!
We are the heirs of Faith!
"And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together." Rom 8:17
The Greek word for heir is sugklēronomos coming from the Greek words sun (with), klero (a lot) and nemomai (to possess) and speaks of being a joint-participant, fellow heir of equal rights, or one who receives a lot with another!
Wow!
We have no excuse for not having enough Faith. We have each received the (full) set measure of Faith (Jesus) (Rom 12:3).
Faith is the appropriation of the Gospel of Grace. Hebr 4:2
Can you see what He does?
He gives us Grace.
JESUS IS GRACE!
Then he gives us Faith to appropriate Grace.
HE IS FAITH!
He goes all-out to make sure that we are not left orphans in this world by giving us His Spirit. And that we are well-enabled to take control, to take up our positions as sons and daughters of the living God, Abba Abba, to rule as kings and queens founded in Jesus!
Glory HalleluYAH!
